For 10 years we have been designing the family carriages on SBB trains
We were asked to design the family carriage for SBB, which invites families to linger. Each new train has its own concept, which is visualised throughout the compartment and on the table games.
Giruno - Swissminiatur
Similar to the well-known park, there is much to discover about Switzerland on this train. We invite you on a little journey through Switzerland in the family compartment.
Sketches & Drafts
For each new world, sketches are created at the beginning that show the structure of the illustrations in detail. Together with the customer, it is defined which illustrations are placed in each position.
Design Walls
The entrances and side walls should look inviting so that there is always something to discover during the journey.
Table Games
We create table games that make every journey with SBB seem too short.
Bombardier – Fairytale World
In cooperation with TBWA Zurich, we were also able to implement the family zone in the new Bombardier Inter-City trains. This time we were able to create a new appearance on the theme of «Fairytale World».

Design Walls

Exterior Signage
The family carriages should also be clearly visible from the outside. We have worked out and sketched several proposals in each case.
Table Games
We also created table games for this family zone that fit the theme and invite the travellers to play.
InterCity – Jungle
In the InterCity tilting trains, the SBB trains have introduced family zones in second class to offer passengers with prams a more comfortable experience. This was the first family carriage we were allowed to realise for SBB together with TBWA Zurich.
Side Walls
We have conceived and designed main characters with a jungle look to accompany the little guests on their journey and make it fun. There is a lot to discover.
Exterior Signage
We redesigned the exterior lettering on the 2020 Inter-City trains and these will now be replaced during the next revisions.
Table Games
Next to the play area upstairs are several tables with the exciting board games «Jungle Hunt» and «The Snake Game».
